Penticton Peach Festival Brings the Community Together
One of the most exciting summer traditions in the region is the Penticton Peach Festival. Every year, the festival brings thousands of people to the region for live music parades, food vendors, fireworks, beach activities, family-friendly fun throughout the city – and of course peaches! A highlight this year will be Trooper’s free concert on Saturday night!
From August 5-9 2026, children will enjoy the rides and activities, families will gather along the waterfront, and visitors will take in the lively atmosphere Penticton is known. The festival creates a strong sense of community for both residents and tourists, who get out to enjoy local food and beverages, restaurants, parks, and outdoor spaces.
Summer events like Peach Festival continue to make Penticton one of the most enjoyable destinations in British Columbia in August.
Farmers’ Markets, Beaches, and Outdoor Fun
Another summer favourite is the Penticton Farmers’ Market, where residents and visitors can stock up on the very freshest Okanagan produce (think asparagus, cherries, apricots, and peaches), artisan gifts, flowers, baked goods, honey, and beef jerky from local vendors throughout the South Okanagan.
Market days on Main Street (100 Block) run Saturday from 8:30 to 1 pm, from April 18 to October 31. It’s always fun to browse downtown, get outside, and support local businesses.
A major draw in Penticton has always been Okanagan Lake and the Penticton River Channel, for paddleboarding, boating, and tubing. The region is renowned for its many cycling routes, and rounding out the day with an evening on one of the many downtown patios with friends and family during the warm summer months.
The combination of lake life, festivals, markets, and outdoor recreation continues to make Penticton a favourite summer destination for both locals and tourists alike.
